Overview
This hotel is less than a 5-minute drive from Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport (YXY) and is well-suited for air travellers.
more Each one of the 32 rooms at this hotel offers free Wi-Fi, an HD Plasma TV, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Guests can choose from standard rooms with king or queen beds and showers (no bathtub), or more spacious suites featuring a fireplace and jetted tub. Some suites have a separate bedroom and/or a balcony. Pets are not allowed at this hotel. Rooms are non-smoking.
Guests can dine on site at Volare, which serves breakfast and dinner most days and features a martini bar. It's current (2014) schedule is as follows: The restaurant and lounge is open Tuesday to Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm and Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm. Breakfast is available Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 10:30 am. Besides downtown restaurants, another nearby breakfast and dining option is the Airport Chalet restaurant next door, which is about a 4-minute walk from the hotel.

This hotel is about an 8-minute drive to the downtown Whitehorse area and only a 1-minute drive to the Alaska Highway. Whitehorse offers a number of outdoor activities. The Mountain View Golf Course is just under a 15-minute drive away. The Mt. Sima Ski area is a 20-minute drive away. Muktuk Adventures (dog sledding expeditions) is just under a 30-minute drive away. The Good
The bulk of reviews used for this analysis were favourable and many guests were most impressed with this hotel's location and with the overall appearance of the hotel's interior.
more Guests appreciated this hotel's proximity to the airport and said that it was conveniently close (under a 5-minute drive). Despite being located so close to the airport, guests said that the hotel was quiet and that noise from planes was not an issue. Others enjoyed being away from the noisy bars in the downtown area.
Rooms were clean and fresh, according to many guests. Guests commented favourably on the sleek, modern design in the rooms and common areas and said that the decor contributed to an overall pleasant appearance. Several guests specifically mentioned being pleased about having very comfortable beds, pillows and linens.
Staff were characterized as friendly and attentive. Staff routinely went out of their way to please and were proactive in meeting guest needs, said several reviewers.
There were some additional comments about solid, swift Wi-Fi connection at the hotel and guests really enjoying the showers.
The Bad
While the vast majority of reviews used for this analysis were positive, there were a few common guest complaints. Guests voiced dissatisfaction most often with the pricing of the food in the on-site restaurant.

There was no elevator at this two-storey hotel, which was a challenge for those with mobility issues or for guests who had lots of luggage.
