The Good
Many guests enjoyed their stays at this hotel. It was well located, had good dining on site and the hotel has made updates to its rooms.
Guests who stayed in renovated rooms found them very clean, comfortable and quiet, although there was some mention of small bathrooms.
Many reviewers liked the location. They found it convenient to shopping, restaurants, Regina General Hospital, the stadium, the Regina Folk Festival and Wascana lake.
Guests had positive experiences at the restaurants and bars on site. Good food and good service was echoed throughout the reviews.
Many were pleased with the staff. One guest who stayed for medical reasons commended the staff for being so helpful and accommodating to the point of helping with the wheelchair in the pouring and chilly December rain.
The indoor pool and hot tub were well liked by guests who found them inviting and clean.
The Bad
Although positive reviews outnumbered negative reviews, there were still a lot of complaints from dissatisfied guests.
Many guests were upset about the extra charge for parking, and had issues with having to get the front desk to deal with tickets issued by the company who owned the lot. One guest said he was charged another full day's rate for 5 extra hours. One guest said there were no security cameras and his rear view mirror was vandalized.
Although some said the hotel offered affordable rates, others felt the hotel did not compete well with newer hotels in the east side of downtown, which offered a free breakfast and free parking for the same rate or less.
The hotel had upgraded its lobby and some of the rooms, but guests still found dated hallways with old carpet. Guests who were placed in dated rooms felt the room price was not justified.
Rooms facing Victoria street were noisy during the night and some could hear traffic early in the morning, although this was not mentioned often in the reviews.
