The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's staff, breakfast, location and rooms.
The hotel's staff were the source of many compliments by guests, who found them friendly, accommodating, attentive and helpful with directions and dining recommendations. One patron remarked, "Staff are simply extraordinary! Merci in particular to Janine (she should get a raise!) who made us espresso whenever we requested it, contacted restaurants for us and personalized our maps for the places we wanted to see. Each and every staff make you feel like family, not something you would find many places".
Numerous reviewers praised the hotel's breakfast, describing it as delicious, tasty, well presented, varied and home cooked. One guest noted, "Yet, just when I thought I couldn't be more impressed, breakfast blew me away. Breakfast was made to order by a chef! Fresh orange juice was served, an amazing array of fresh fruit, and hot breakfast of your choice, plus a perfectly done cappuccino made just for me!".
Several lodgers were pleased with the hotel's location, finding it close to Old Quebec, restaurants, shopping and highway access. One patron described it as, "Convenient location, only about 15 minute walk to be within the Old Town walls". A few reviewers did find the hotel a little far from Old Quebec, however.
The hotel's accommodations were enjoyed by several travellers. They described their rooms as clean, quiet, contemporary and unique, with great showers. A few guests had complaints about their rooms, however (see below).
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few complaints about the rooms and rates.
Although the majority of guests were pleased with their clean and unique rooms, a few lodgers had complaints. They reported only curtains separating the bathrooms from the bedrooms (creating a lack of privacy), as well as no coffeemakers in some rooms, street noise and small bathrooms.
A few patrons were disappointed with the hotel's rates. They found them overpriced due to the proximity of the hotel to Quebec City's tourist sites.
