The Good
Guests enjoyed their stay and found this a good budget option in an expensive downtown hotel market.

Guests often reported on rooms that were well cleaned and well-equipped with modern appliances, good views, working air conditioning and comfortable beds.

The location was considered excellent. It was an easy walk to Metro, restaurants and shopping on St Catherine Street and several downtown attractions. One guest found it handy to Medisys Montreal and the US Consulate.

Guests often found the staff friendly, responsive to requests and helpful.

The Bad
Although guests left high scores, there were quite of lot of complaints and nitpicks.

Room complaints found were: room a little small, smelled like a dorm, poor shower pressure, hard mattress, sheets too small for the bed, poorly cleaned washrooms/floors, dust in the ventilation, sofa had lots of crumbs in it, stained bed sheets, no plates and utensils in the mini-kitchen, no in-room safes and not enough TV channels.

Some found noise disturbances from the elevator, guests in hallways, nearby construction and the street traffic

Guests sometimes found the parking expensive, especially with no in-out privileges and somewhat inconvenient for loading and unloading luggage, a little ways off site.

Occasionally guests complained about the staff being unfriendly or unhelpful at the front desk and not being responsive to requests for a quiet room. Also guests sometimes found the housekeeping staff intrusive on check-out day, argumentative (to one guest who pointed out dirty towels) and lacking attention to detail in servicing the rooms. One guest mentioned getting no help with luggage.

Others complained of poor signage outside for locating the hotel, old elevators with poorly-maintained flooring, no pool, no restaurant and a small gym.
