Overview
The Marriott Chateau Champlain is located on de la Gauchetiere Street, on the corner of Peel Street, in downtown Montreal. 

The 36 floor-hotel has free wireless Internet, and free high-speed wired Internet, in all its rooms and common areas. 
Parking is available at the hotel's underground parking lot for $22/day. The hotel is attached to Montreal's Underground City, with interior access to the central train station, Bonaventure metro station, the Bell Centre, and numerous shops and restaurants. 

All of the hotel's rooms feature a work desk, table with chairs, iron and ironing board, and alarm clock. Rooms also feature a unique half-moon shaped window and most rooms offer expansive views of the city. Guests may choose from either a room with 1 king or 2 double beds, room with 1 king bed and a pull-out couch, as well as 1 and 2-bedroom suites.

There is an on-site restaurant which serves breakfast (not included), lunch and dinner, as well as a bar serving drinks and lighter fare, open for lunch and dinner. The hotel also has an on-site Starbucks coffee shop. There is a fitness centre with cardio machines and free weights, an indoor pool, whirlpool and spa.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Bonaventure metro and the train station - both accessible from inside the hotel. The airport is about 20km from the hotel and there is a stop for the 747 airport bus a few streets north of the hotel, at Rene Levesque and Peel

In addition to the Underground City, the hotel is also located close to many attractions. Old Montreal and Chinatown are about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The shopping area of St. Catherine Street is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, as is the Bell Centre, also accessible from inside the hotel. The nightlife on Crescent and Bishop Street are about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

The Good
Overall, the hotel received many positive comments in the reviews used for this analysis, especially for its location and views.  

Numerous guest reviewers enjoyed the hotel's central location close to the Bell Centre, shops and restaurants. The hotel's interior connection to Montreal's extensive underground network of shops, as well as the central train station and a metro station, were especially convenient for many guest reviewers. There were numerous comments that this hotel was "the perfect choice" for business travellers, families, and guests attending a hockey game or concert at the Bell Centre.

Many guest reviewers enjoyed their rooms for the comfort, cleanliness, good beds and unique half-moon windows which afforded vast views of the city. A few reviewers recommended that guests ask for a room on a higher floor, to take full advantage of the views. 

Some guest reviewers also enjoyed the hotel's heated indoor pool.

Many guests appreciate the general atmosphere of the hotel. One reviewers wrote that she was "charmed by the ambience" immediately upon entering the hotel and another commented that the hotel had "old world elegance".

The Bad
There were some negative comments in the reviews sourced, although they were outnumbered by positive reviews. 

A few guest reviewers found the hotel's breakfast expensive, particularly for its portions. There were also a few comments in the reviews that the hotel's food and drink prices were high.

Some reviewers travelling with cars found it difficult to fit their cars into the underground parking lot. And a few others found the décor in the hotel and rooms to be outdated. In addition, some guest reviewers claimed the rooms were small, as well as the bathrooms.
