The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay at this hotel.

The location was great. It was perfect for accessing the Jazz Festival in the summer being right in Quartier des Spectacles, it was an easy walk to Old Montreal, downtown shops and restaurants, and right at the edge of Chinatown with lots of cheap and cheerful eateries close at hand. Metro was only a 5-minute walk away.

Guests liked the rooms. They were modern, had comfortable beds, black-out blinds and stylish showers with shower heads that adjusted for height. Many were pleased to have a little mini-kitchen set up in their rooms and rooms that faced the street on higher floors had impressive city views.

The staff were often appreciated for their helpful service.

Guests often spoke well of the continental breakfast served buffet style each morning and also of the tapas restaurant at the hotel.

Many thought the hotel offered great value for being so well located.

Adding value to the stay were: the guest terrace with pleasant views of Montreal, the Couche Tard convenience store attached to the hotel, the 10% discount at the hotel’s tapas restaurant and the well-equipped fitness centre on site.

The Bad
There were some nitpicks and a few common complaints found online in reviews.

Guests often found their rooms a little small and some did not like the black walls and dim lighting. There was also the odd complaint of rooms needing better cleaning around the edges, although guests usually reported clean rooms.

Nitpicks for the rooms included having too many mirrors (even in the shower), no desk in (some of) the rooms but uncomfortable chairs with a little table, and the TVs not rotating to be able to watch from the bed. Also, the hotel had shut off the AC in the fall and some found their room was still hot with no way to sufficiently cool it down. Guests were instructed to open the window, but this solution brought in noise from the street and was worrisome (to some) due to the window being without a screen.

The continental breakfast was too limited and uninviting according to some guests.

Guests also sometimes complained of hearing traffic noise from front facing rooms on the lower floors, or noise disturbances from the elevators.

The valet parking was sometimes found to be inconvenient as there was no easy drop-off zone in front of the hotel where a valet was ready and waiting for you. Guests had to locate temporary parking behind the hotel and then surrender their keys to the front desk. There was also a 15- to 30-minute wait, according to some, for their cars. Some found the price for parking quite expensive as well.
