The Good
Guests who stayed at this hotel typically liked it very much and many left perfect scores. It seemed to fit the bill for guests who wanted to walk to downtown destinations (or take a quick cab) and have plenty of restaurant choices nearby. Guests often came on business or to celebrate special occasions.

The hotel had very comfortable beds, fast and stable Wi-Fi and very pleasant valet staff, along with a gourmet restaurant on site.

It was easy to jump up and go in the morning with a buffet breakfast ready and waiting. It included plenty of protein choices such as eggs, cheese and breakfast meats, along with pastries and Quebecois specialities. Many were pleased to have this freebie.

The location was ideal for guests not caring to be right in the old city area. It was perfect for visiting the university and walkable to most anywhere downtown. Guests not wanting to walk, could cab quickly or hop on the bus or Metro, which was also close by. Guests found it near to shopping on Sherbrooke and St Catherine streets.

Many guests were impressed with the concierge staff for helping to set up birthday and anniversary surprises, babysitting or dining out plans. One recent guest wrote: "We loved the concierge, Andre. He told us about events happening the weekend we were visiting Montreal and told us about the best pizza and gelato places to go to. He was extremely helpful in giving us information on how to get around the city and get best experiences."

The Bad
Although guests were usually very pleased with their stays, the hotel did fail to impress on occasion.

There were a few room-related complaints: dim lighting in bathroom made it difficult to apply make up, no black out blinds to fully block out light for sleeping in, deluxe suite had views of heating ducts and roof tops, rooms seemed unfinished with painted concrete on the ceiling, and the bathroom shower and tub section had a glass wall to the bedroom with a venetian blind to create privacy, but the venetian blind was in the bedroom and therefore not in the control of the person showering.

Occasionally guests were disappointed with the free breakfast which sometimes involved hot items being cold or dislikes over the selection.

Some guests reported noise disturbances but these were rarely found. Complaints included: a whimpering dog, a vehicle beeping loudly at 1 am in the alley, and guests banging the door of the fitness centre early in the morning.

Hotel related complaints were: small and slow elevators and a small fitness centre.
