Located a 6-minute drive from McGill University and 8 minutes from Montreal's city centre, the Hotel Chez Swann is popular with leisure travellers who prefer a boutique-style hotel with modern decor and an on-site restaurant.
This hotel has 23 air-conditioned rooms, each offering a king or queen bed, free Wi-Fi and wired internet, cable TV, a desk, a bathrobe and slippers for each guest, an iPod docking station, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer. Standard rooms offer a double bed, while rooms with separate bedrooms and balconies are also available.
Hotel amenities include a free continental breakfast, conference/meeting space, a fitness room, a business centre and two restaurants. Le Pois Penche offers brunch, lunch and dinner daily, while Liquid Nutrition is open from 7:15am to 6:00pm daily. Parking is not included but is available in a public lot behind the hotel. Many guests were pleased with their accommodations at this hotel and described their rooms as clean, modern and spacious. Several reviewers commented on the comfort of the beds. However, be advised that some rooms do not provide a window to the outside.
The hotel's location was praised by numerous lodgers. They found it to be close to shopping on St. Catherine's Street, as well as close to the Metro, restaurants, and the Bell Centre. One guest reported it was, "walking distance from practically everything".

A couple of guests complained that they were asked for a $200 deposit (held on their credit card) upon check-in. This deposit is in the event of guests smoking in their rooms, and is refunded upon check-out.
