The Good
Guests who stayed at this hotel were typically quite pleased with their stay, the highlights being the friendly staff and the good value based on the quality of amenities offered.
Besides a lower room rate, the hotel provided a free hot breakfast with a nice selection, good free Wi-Fi and convenient free parking on site.
Many commented positively on the location. It was quiet and close to downtown events, clubs and bars, the aquatic centre, the art museum and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel.
Guests liked the rooms. They found them clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and appreciated having Keurig coffeemakers with free K cups, sitting areas and mini-fridges that cooled well.
The staff made a difference with many guests praising them for being amazingly helpful and making the stay exceptionally pleasant. One guest wrote, "A massive thank you to the front desk staff...I have traveled quite a lot and this was def in my top 5 of customer service experiences."
The Bad
Guests who were less enthusiastic about the hotel usually described the hotel as dated and the neighbourhood as sketchy.
Guests spoke of 80's decor, small pillows and lumpy bedspreads and the furniture being a little rough. One guest said the hotel smelled old and another described a musty odour that may have come from stale cigarette odours.
