Overview
Located near the city centre, this downtown hotel offers handy access to public transit and is an easy walk from the city's tourist attractions, eateries and many shopping districts.
more The hotel has 92 smoke-free rooms on 3 floors with elevator access.
All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a flat screen TV with cable, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a desk, a safe, a hair dryer and climate control.
Some rooms include a sofabed, a sitting area, a table and chairs and a double jacuzzi. Accessible rooms are available and guests can obtain an iron and ironing board at the front desk.
Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.
Underground parking (6 ft clearance) is available for $19 per day with in/out privileges or $12 per day with no in-out privileges. (*See below for details.)
Pets are welcome for $15 each per day, plus tax ($16.95).
A free continental breakfast with self-made waffles is available from 6 am to 10 am. Free coffee is available all day in the breakfast area.

Getting around: The street car (light rail) stop is right outside the hotel on Spadina Avenue, a 2-minute walk. Union Station (transportation hub) is a 27-minute walk or 8-minute drive. Parking, if arranged through the front desk before parking, costs $12 per day, plus tax ($13.56) with no in-and-out privileges. If parking is not arranged through the front desk, and you access the parkade independently, you will pay $19 per day, plus tax ($21.47) but you will have in-and-out privileges. (The hotel subsidizes parking rates to their guests and the cheaper rate can only be obtained through the front desk.) The location of this hotel was appreciated by many guests. They found it handy to public transit, Queen Street, the Eaton Centre, Kensington Market, the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre. Some guests stayed at this hotel as well while attending some nearby downtown hospitals.
This hotel was appreciated for being a good budget option for downtown Toronto and many guests said they would return.

Guests enjoyed the rooms for being spacious, clean and well appointed with fridges and microwaves.
Guests appreciated the free continental breakfast with fresh waffles supplied by the hotel, especially considering the lower room price in such an expensive city. Guests reported the breakfast area well cared for.
The Bad
Some guests gave negative feedback regarding the hotel in recent online reviews.
Although many guests said the breakfast was quite good, a few guests missed the inclusion of yogurt and eggs.
Some guests said that the parking entrance for the hotel was easy to miss and expressed the need for better signage and some found the parkade somewhat dirty. Occasionally guests did not understand how to obtain the discounted rate from the front desk.
Several guests complained that the housekeeping staff did not properly clean their rooms or the hallways. There were a few that cited stained carpets and areas of maintenance that needed attention including moldy bathroom tiles.
Some other complaints involved a slow elevator, old equipment in the exercise room, dark hallways and weak shower pressure.
