Overview
This student residence is located in downtown Toronto and is open to the public from May to the third week in August offering basic rooms with limited housekeeping and a well-liked free hot breakfast.

The building has 329 smoke-free and pet-free rooms and 23 floors with elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free toiletries, a desk with chair, an ensuite bathroom with shower only or shower/tub combination, and climate control. (Hair dryer and iron and ironing board are available upon request at the front desk.)

Some rooms include 2 or 4 separate bedrooms (with locking bedroom doors), a sofa, a living room (includes sofa and coffee table but no TV) and 2 bathrooms. Accessible rooms are also available.

Rooms are furnished with 2 single/twin beds or 1, 2 or 4 double beds.

Guests should note: there is limited housekeeping offered with beds changed weekly and towels replaced/garbage removed every 3 days.

Parking: is available on site for $25 per day in a parking garage with a 7’ clearance.

A free hot breakfast is offered from 7:30 am to 10:30 am weekdays and from 8:30 am to 11 am on weekends.

Restaurant on site:
Tim Hortons is attached to the building and open from 6 am to 10 pm.

Off-site restaurants: Jinya Ramen Bar and Harvey’s are both a 3-minute walk, Kinka Izakaya is a 4-minute walk and Jack Astor’s is an 11-minute walk.

Common guest amenities include a 24-hour fitness centre, community kitchens, a lounge with cable TV, laundry facilities, a private women’s-only studio, a games room (billiards, ping pong tables etc.), a picnic area, a self-serve market, a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, an ATM, vending machines, and meeting rooms.

What’s nearby? Loblaws (groceries) is a 2-minute walk. Toronto Eaton Centre/Yonge-Dundas Square is a 13-minute walk or 9 minutes by light rail transit.

Nearby Universities: Ryerson University is a 10-minute walk. University of Toronto and George Brown College are each an 18-minute walk. OCAD University is a 26-minute walk or 17-minutes by light rail.

Nearby Hospitals: Mount Sinai, Toronto General Hospital and Hospital for Sick Children are all within a 6-minute drive.

Area attractions:
CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium are a 12-minute drive. Royal Ontario Museum is a 6-minute drive.

The Good
Guests found a clean, basic room with a good breakfast in a central location.

The rooms were clean, although basic and ‘student dorm’ style.

The location offered easy access to light rail, the subway station and nearby eateries.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Guests enjoyed breakfast on site saying there was lots of selection and good food.

Guests also liked: nice views from some rooms, 24-hour security and honest, helpful security staff.

The Bad
Some guests posted negative feedback in reviews.

Recent room complaints were: bed is small and uncomfortable with a thin blanket, mattress covered with plastic, lack of lighting in living area and bedroom, lack of hangers and (full length) mirror, no TV in room, weak water pressure, no tissues in bathroom, housekeeping did not replace towels daily and bathtub was clogged.

Noise complaints included: the in-room air conditioner, students in the hallway, the neighbouring room and sirens/traffic sounds.

Other comments found were: this place is very basic with poor lighting, carpets needed cleaning or replacing, no daily cleaning of the room, Wi-Fi was flakey and room was overpriced.
