Overview
Docked at Toronto Harbour and about a 7-minute drive from Toronto's city centre just off the Gardiner Expressway Highway, Making Waves Boatel is geared towards travellers who would enjoy centrally located, on-the-water accommodations with a free breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

Each of the hotel's three guest rooms offers free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a CD player, a mini-fridge and a coffeemaker. Two of the guest rooms share a bathroom with a hair dryer and free toiletries, while one room also comes equipped with cable TV, a DVD player and an en suite bathroom. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are not available and pets are not permitted.

Hotel amenities include a computer station, a TV in the lobby, a DVD library and a free breakfast. Public parking is available nearby for an additional $12 per day.

The CN Tower and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre are both about a 3-minute drive from the hotel, while the Toronto Eaton Centre can be found 7 minutes away by car. Many guests praised the hotel's hosts, finding them friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations and dinner reservations. One patron noted, "Diane and Ted are extremely wonderful, friendly host[s] who make you feel at home on their boat. We sat and talked for quite a while on how they came about starting the Boatel and their travels, they make you feel like family, which allows you to feel more relaxed and enjoy your vacation all the more".

The hotel's location was enjoyed by numerous reviewers. They described it as relaxing and peaceful, as well as close to downtown Toronto, the CN Tower, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre, restaurants, shopping and the Rogers Centre.

Several travellers were pleased with the hotel's breakfast, describing it as wonderful, excellent, varied and delicious. One guest remarked, "Diane was super accommodating and creative about my dietary restrictions, and each day provided a home cooked fresh meal I would never have gotten anywhere other than my own home (only better!)".

The hotel's accommodations were complimented by several lodgers, who found them clean, quiet, spacious and well maintained, with comfortable beds. A couple of guests had complaints about the rooms, however (see below).
