The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's location, staff and rooms.
Numerous reviewers praised the hotel's location. They found it close to downtown Toronto, public transit, shopping, restaurants, the Royal Ontario Museum, the University of Toronto, the CN Tower and the Bata Shoe Museum.
The hotel's staff were the source of many compliments by guests, who characterized them as friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. One patron remarked, "the staff was incredible and over the top kind from helping to coordinate the return of my delayed luggage, to assisting with a late night run to a pharmacy due to a startling break out of hives on my face, to managing an unexpected influx of local, elderly guests due to the ice storm which caused widespread power outages throughout the city".
Several lodgers were pleased with the hotel's accommodations. They described their rooms as clean, well maintained, spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds and great city views. A few travellers had complaints about their lodgings, however (see below).
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few complaints about the rooms and the cost.
Although the majority of reviewers were pleased with their clean and spacious rooms, a few guests criticized their lodgings. They reported no fridges in some rooms, dated decor, uncomfortable beds and rooms that were too hot. Noise transfer from guests in the hallways was also reported by a few lodgers.
A few patrons were disappointed with the cost of the hotel. They felt the parking and breakfast were expensive and that both of these items should have been included in the price.
