Overview
Located on Memorial Avenue, about a 4-minute drive to Lakehead University, and an 8-minute drive to Confederation College, this hotel is popular with students and their visiting families. 

All of the 49 smoke-free rooms have free Wi-Fi, free local calls, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and air conditioning . Rooms are furnished with 1 queen bed or 2 double beds. Room extras include a work area, and a mini-fridge. Guests may request an iron and ironing board from the front desk.

Free parking is available for cars and oversize vehicles with cold-weather hook-ups. Pets are permitted for a cost of $20 per stay, per pet with a limit of 2 pets per room.

Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily which includes boiled eggs and waffles. There is a Kelsey's restaurant a 7-minute walk of the hotel. 

Hotel amenities include a guest use copy and fax machine and guest laundry. There is no elevator on site.

This hotel is within a 6-minute walk of a number of big box stores (Walmart, Chapters). It is about an 8-minute drive to downtown Thunder Bay. Fort William Historical Park (a re-creation of the days of the North West Company and the Canadian fur trader) is about a 17-minute drive away. The Good
Guests of this motel felt that this made a good place to rest your head for a night or two and appreciated the value offered in the lower room rate, with good free Wi-Fi and a good breakfast. Many guests were returning or planned to return to the hotel.

Many said that the hotel was well maintained and clean. Many described the rooms as clean, quiet and comfortable.

Guests received good service from staff, who were flexible and helpful. 

There were some additional comments on the quality and the selection of the food offered at the continental breakfast as guests were pleased to have hard boiled eggs and self-made waffles on the menu. 

Other guests liked this hotel's proximity to shops and to the university. One guest mentioned using it as a stopover for one night while accessing the airport and also found it to give easy access to main highways and restaurants.

The Bad
There were not a lot of negative comments in the reviews read recently for this report as most guests seemed to have been satisfied with what they received for the price paid.

A few guests mentioned that the hotel was an older facilitywhich looked tired. A few guests found the rooms small and said the bathrooms had nowhere to place toiletries.
