The Good
Except for the odd hiccup, guests usually enjoyed their stays at this hotel. It seems like a busy place with many large groups booking the hotel at once for weddings, birthday parties and other events.
more It's efficiently run and very clean and well maintained, and guests were often pleasantly surprised at the modern facility for such a small city as Pembroke and some hinted that it was the best hotel in the city.
Room flooring was partially laminate and this may be the reason for their clean and tidy appearance. Guests seemed to find the rooms quiet, with comfortable beds and nice decor.
For the most part, guests seemed happy with the staff. They got very good scores in online surveys, were attentive and sought to help guests out whenever they could. Some called them excellent, cheerful and helpful. One recent guest told of how they ran after him to give him some cash he left in the room. "Everyone was very friendly and extremely honest. When we left we had accidentally left some cash when checking out. The staff ran out to our car and told us we had left $30 in the bathroom. When they handed it back to us it turned out to be $50."
The indoor pool was enjoyed by guests, especially those travelling with children. Guests felt it was well kept.
The restaurant put out good meals and one recent guest was especially impressed with the French Beef Dip.
The location was convenient to downtown, restaurants, shopping and the highway.
The Bad
There was a little negative feedback found.
more Recent room complaints: bathroom was a small and mattress was saggy.
Other comments found: breakfast started late on a Sunday (8 am), missed having a free continental breakfast, gym was too warm with no way to control the temperature, no towels in the pool, room booking error, did not get room requested, and pool was cold.
