Overview
Located in the east end of Ottawa, approximately a 13 minute drive from the downtown area, this hotel is popular with guests who seek basic accommodations and who don't mind driving to access many of Ottawa's main attractions. 

At this non-smoking hotel, guests can choose from Standard rooms, or from larger Suites, some which have a kitchen, a fireplace and a jacuzzi. In all rooms, guests can expect WI FI, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and an ironing board. There is free on-site parking available, and pets are welcome at this hotel for a charge that starts at $12/night (prices vary depending on the pet).

While there is no on-site restaurant, there are a few dining options located nearby. Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily.

Guests will most certainly need access to a vehicle to reach the downtown area, as well as a number of attractions. Its east end location makes it more conveniently located to a few east end points of interest, like the St. Laurent Shopping Centre (a 9 minute drive) and the Museum of Science and Technology (about a 12 minute drive). A cluster of popular attractions, including Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the Byward Market are all drivable in about 15 minutes. Guests travelling by air should budget about 26 minutes (23.5km) to get to MacDonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) (distances and driving time estimates: Google Maps).

The Good
For guests that had a positive experience, the hotel's location and good customer service were the main drivers.

Guests found the location of the hotel convenient, and the 13 minute drive to downtown a reasonable distance. Some guests liked being slightly removed from the downtown core, and liked the neighbourhood that the hotel was situated in. One guest described the neighbourhood as "quiet surroundings".

Price point was a positive factor for a number of guests, who used words like "affordable" in their comments and indicated that there was good value received for the price paid.

Staff were friendly and accommodating at this hotel. Guest reviewers used words like "courteous" and "helpful" to describe them.

There were a few additional comments on things like generous room size and large parking lot.

The Bad
Lack of detailed cleaning and unpleasant odours were the main culprits for guests who had an unpleasant experience staying at this hotel.

There were a number of comments from guests who felt that their rooms needed to be cleaner, and mentioned dirty towels, stained linens and cigarette holes in the sheets.

A few guests complained of mouldy smells emitting from their rooms, as well as some other unpleasant odours.

While some guests found the inclusion of a free continental breakfast to be a positive, a number of guests found the selection and the quality of the food offered to be sub par. They also indicated that the breakfast room was unkempt and some things were broken (ie. microwave).

There were a few peripheral comments on poorly lit hallways and broken windows in the rooms.
