Overview
Located on Lakeshore Dr., across from Lake Nipissing and beach access, and about a 7-minute drive to the downtown area, this hotel is popular with guests who have access to a vehicle and who want to stay slightly outside of the downtown area.

All of the 81 rooms at this hotel have free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Guests can choose between rooms with a double or queen bed(s). Pets are permitted free of charge.

While there is no on-site restaurant, guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily. There are a couple of restaurants located within a 5- to 10-minute walk, and a number more within a 5-minute drive. On-site parking is free.

North Bay Mall has shopping and dining, a 3-minute drive away.  Laurentian Ski Hill is an 17-minute drive away, while North Bay Memorial Gardens (arena and recreation centre) is a 8-minute drive away.(All distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps).

The Good
Most of the reviews used for this analysis were positive, and much of that had to do with service from staff and with the free continental breakfast.

Staff here were friendly, warm and courteous. Front desk staff were helpful in providing guests with directions. There was a sense from guests that staff went the extra mile to make sure that they were happy.

A number of guests thought that the continental breakfast was satisfying, and a number of guests appreciated that it was included with their room rate. More than one reviewer described it as "ample" and one said they "couldn't believe the how good the breakfast was."

Price point was attractive for a number of guests, who felt that they had received good value for the price that they paid. They commented on the fact that they felt that the hotel was reasonably priced.

Rooms were clean and comfortable, according to a number of guests. Guests also felt that the rooms were well laid out, and that they could move around with ease.

The bulk of reviews used for this analysis were positive, but guests did commonly complain about the hotel's inconvenient location and its aging decor.

A few guests felt that this hotel's location was isolated and that restaurants and shops were far away. They warned other guests to make sure that they had access to a vehicle in order to get around.

This hotel was showing its age, according to guests, who suggested that the decor needed to be updated. They complained about worn linens and cigarette burns on the bedding.

There were some peripheral comments about rattling air conditioning units that didn't cool the rooms evenly and about strong cigarette smoke odours in the smoking areas of the hotel.
