The Good
Some guests seemed happy with their stay.
They found the staff friendly and helpful with information.
Some guests thought the location was decent, away from the busy and touristy places, but an easy drive to the attractions of Niagara Falls.
For some guests the price was right and they obtained a decent place for an overnight stay. Free parking and the free breakfast added value.
Some guests were satisfied with the free breakfast. "They had hard boiled eggs, lots of cereal, some pastries, bagels, juice and coffee." according to one reviewer.
Some guests were satisfied with their rooms. They were described as clean and seemed pleased to have a mini-kitchen or kitchenette with stove top and good heat and air conditioning.
The Bad
Some guests provided their critique of the motel online in reviews.
With regard to the rooms some complaints posted were: not that well cleaned, uncomfortable/hard/springy bed, room dark, musty odours, dated decor and old bathrooms and lighting.
Some described an unpleasant atmosphere. One recent guest wrote, "Room appeared clean but found dead spider on curtain, could see dust under the bed, wallpaper hanging off walls, ceiling tiles were drooping and dirty, carpet was rolling in spots, and we could hear other guests using the toilet. Manager greeted us in his pajama pants in the morning."
Some felt the room rates were not justified and that the motel was highly overrated in the reviews.
Noise was a disturbance for some who cited cars passing by, a restaurant and bar across the street with live music on the weekend, neighbours in nearby rooms and a loud heater or AC unit.
Some felt breakfast could use better food handling procedures, better coffee and the addition of fresh fruit and yogurt.
Several guests had run-ins with the owners and left lengthly and detailed reviews of conflicts that occured.
Some said that taxes charged were 16% instead of the expected 13% HST for Ontario.
