The Good
This hotel provided a typically clean room with amazing falls views.

Guests found the rooms comfortable for the most part. They usually found the rooms well cleaned and spacious with comfortable beds, although the new Marriott design in the renovated rooms offered no desk or table to have a room service meal, no dresser with drawers, no bedside tables with lamps which produced poor in-room lighting. Some also missed having shelving in the showers for soap and shampoo.

Some guests liked the quieter location. It was close to restaurants and the WeGo bus stop but guests found it a little far to walk to Clifton Hill and a bit of a hike to the falls.

Guests typically enjoyed meals at Milestones along with the service and impressive head-on views of the Falls.

Guests found helpful, polite and friendly staff at the hotel.

The Bad
There were various complaints that guests had in common.

Guests often found the hotel expensive. Guests complained of extra parking fees, Wi-Fi charges and what some thought was a "city tax" which was really a tourism fee charged as a percentage, meaning the higher your room or restaurant fee, the higher this tourism fee. One guest said breakfast was good but cost $50 for 2 people. Even Starbucks cost more at the hotel.

There were renovations taking place which created drilling sounds early in the morning (7 am) for some and dusty floors and hallways and paint odour for others. Guests said the hotel did not warn of renos being done.

The elevators were slow with very long waits at times (22 minutes) and guests said they had to share them with workers doing the renovations.

Regarding the location, some guests found it far to walk to Clifton Hill and a bit of a hike to the outdoor viewing platform for the falls.

Other recent complaints were: dirty carpet in unrenovated room, room smelled, AC didn't cool, room lighting dim, no in-room safe, mini-fridge froze items, hard mattress, no porter or luggage trolley in the lobby, many of the vending machines ate your coin and didn't work, bathrooms were small, worst cable channels, furnishings needed updating in room, and hot tub and pool need updating.
