Overview

This hotel offers on-site dining, on-site spa services, bike rentals and access to recreational water activities, making this a good fit for guests who want everything on site, including a good variety of recreational activities.

This hotel is 100% smoke free and each individually climate-controlled room comes with an alarm clock, bottled water, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board, a mini-fridge, a kitchenette (oven, microwave, stovetop, dishware, toaster and table and chairs) and a hair dryer. Some rooms feature a sofabed and/or fireplace and/or balcony.

Wi-Fi is available in all rooms for a surcharge of $15.95 per day. Accessible rooms are available and service animals are allowed. Free self parking is available. Valet parking is provided for $30 per day. Continental breakfast is available for a fee of $14 per day or guests can choose the buffet breakfast for $24.95 per day. Pets are not allowed.

Other amenities include a fitness centre, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, bike rentals, access to jet skis and on-site spa services.

Cottages serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on site and overlooks the lake. Teca features intimate dining for dinner and serves Italian-style cuisine and a wine menu. Lakes (the Gathering Place) also overlooks the lake and is open for lunch and dinner. It features a bar and lobby lounge. Country Market Resort Shop and Cafe serves coffee and pastries and sells sundries and souvenirs. The Deck is a seasonal poolside bistro with bar. Room service is available from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Muskoka Airport (YQA) is about 1 hour southeast by car. Lake Rosseau is an 8-minute drive away. Eagle Crest Aerial Park is 42 minutes southeast by car. Port Carling Community Centre is a 21-minute drive away, while the Ryan Fine Art Gallery is an 18-minute drive from the hotel. (All driving estimates: Google Maps).

The Good

Generally, guests were quite happy with their stays at this hotel and said they would return or recommend it to others. Guests were commonly pleased with the rooms, the amenities, the restaurants and the location.

The rooms were the biggest source of praise for many reviewers. They described them as well appointed, comfortable and spacious. Some guests also thought the rooms were clean and fresh.

The amenities were another highlight for many guests. Some guests liked that both pools were connected and both were easily accessible. Some reviewers also enjoyed the fitness centre and described it as bright and nice.

According to several reviewers, the restaurants had good food and atmosphere. Some guests specifically enjoyed Teca while others thought the portions were generous and the servers were accommodating.

Several guests liked the hotel's location and thought the surrounding area was beautiful.

The staff were complimented by several reviewers and were described as friendly, accommodating and efficient.

The Bad

As mentioned above, most reviews were quite positive. However, some guests were not impressed with the room rates and the sofabeds.

Several reviewers felt the additional fees were a bit much and for that reason thought the hotel was overpriced and provided poor overall value. Some guests complained about having to pay for Wi-Fi while others didn't appreciate having to pay a separate fee for breakfast.

A couple of guests thought the sofabeds were a tad worn and uncomfortable.
