Overview
Located next to 12-mile Lake along Highway 35 and about an 11-minute drive from Minden's town centre, Heather Lodge is geared towards adult travellers who prefer a hotel with on-site dining, spa service and easy highway access.

Each of this smoke-free hotel's guest rooms comes equipped with free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a balcony, a table and chairs and a hair dryer. Rooms with a jetted tub and a wood-burning fireplace are also available. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

Hotel amenities include a hot tub, a sauna, in-room massage services, meeting/banquet space, a business centre, a games room, free use of canoes, boat rentals, packed lunches, free parking and an on-site dining room that serves breakfast and dinner daily. Pets are not permitted.

The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's staff, restaurant and rooms.

Many lodgers praised the hotel's staff, characterizing them as accommodating, welcoming and attentive. One patron noted, "Maria and James, the new owners of Heather Lodge, were extraordinarily welcoming and accommodating. Maria was a gracious hostess, server, and source of local information, while James concocted the best dinner I have ever had".

The hotel's restaurant was complimented by numerous reviewers, who described it as superb, amazing, delicious and fresh. One guest remarked, "James is the lodges' chef who cooks classic, hearty and well prepared meals. The four course dinner menu, on our visit, had a soup, three salads, three appetizers, five entrees and is considerate of vegetarians".

Several travellers enjoyed their accommodations at the hotel. They found their rooms to be clean, well equipped, modern and spacious, with comfortable beds. A few guests did have complaints about their lodgings, however (see below).
