Numerous guests were pleased with the hotel's location. They described it as central, and close to the Blockhouse Museum, highway access, the Rideau Canal, shopping, restaurants and Kemptville. 

The hotel's restaurants were praised by several lodgers, who described them as delicious and excellent, with attentive service. About The Baldachin Restaurant, one guest remarked, "Each dish showed a creative twist. everyone enjoyed their selections and rated the food as very good in taste and creativeness. The service was friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit".

Although some guests were pleased with their clean and comfortable rooms, some reviewers were disappointed with their accommodations. They reported small rooms, bathrooms and TVs, no storage space for clothing, a lack of hot water (especially when trying to fill up the jetted tubs), no in-room coffeemakers and some cleaning issues.

A few patrons complained about the hotel's value. They found the rates to be expensive, and felt a free breakfast should also have been included in the daily rate.
