Overview

This hotel is situated within the University of Guelph Research Park and is well suited for guests who are looking to explore the Guelph campus on foot. The Stone Road Mall is about a 4-minute drive away and includes several restaurants.

This property is 100% smoke-free and all 148 rooms and suites include free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board, air conditioning and windows that open. Rooms are furnished with two queen beds.

Suites also include a separate sitting area, a work desk and an ergonomic chair. Select suites offer separate living and bedroom areas, a second TV in the bedroom, a fireplace, bathrobes, an iPod dock and a make-up/shaving mirror. Corner suites also include a kitchenette (microwave and fridge). Suites are furnished with one king bed, one king bed and a sofabed, or one queen bed and a sofa bed.

Parking is available on site for $12 per night and pets are permitted for an additional fee of $35 per stay ($70 for stays longer than 5 days).

The on-site restaurant, Fifty West, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Room service is also available.

On-site amenities include a fitness centre, a gift shop, coin-operated laundry machines, meeting rooms, conference space, dry cleaning (extra fees apply) and bike rentals.

The downtown area of Guelph is about a 9-minute drive away and features the Sleeman Centre (sports and entertainment venue), the Old Quebec Street Market, the Guelph Farmer's Market, and the Guelph GoTrain station. The Sleeman Brewery and store is 10 minutes away by car.

Many guests described their rooms as clean and well appointed with modern furnishings and fixtures. A few reviewers thought that their rooms were spacious and a couple of guests found their beds to be comfortable. A couple of reviewers mentioned that their rooms were quiet.

The staff were frequently complimented and guests described the front desk staff as friendly and accommodating. One reviewer said that the "service was fantastic", while another reviewer noted, "at every turn, someone is asking how your stay is or wishing you a good day or evening".

While several guests praised the food served at the lunch buffet, a couple of reviewers complained about the food that they were served during Sunday brunch. One reviewer who ordered eggs Benedict said that "the eggs were hard and the sauce was cold". A few guests found the service to be slow and one reviewer suggested that the restaurant was understaffed.

Isolated complaints included: unreliable Wi-Fi service, and difficulty maintaining a comfortable room temperature.
