Overview
Located within a minute's drive to drive to Highway 11 and to Highway 169, this hotel may be attractive to guests seeking a home base while touring the Muskoka area beaches, parks and shops by car. 

There are non-smoking and smoking rooms available. In addition to a mini-fridge and microwave, each room is equipped with free Wi-Fi, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Rooms are furnished with either queen or double beds. Pets are allowed for a charge of $10 per stay.

Guests can dine on site at Farmers Plate Restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Tuesday-Sunday. Free parking is available on site.

Muskoka Wharf (shops and restaurants on Muskoka Bay) is a 5-minute drive away. The Gravenhurst Opera House is within walking distance (a 10-minute walk away). Casino Rama is just over a 25-minute drive away. (All distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good
The bulk of reviews used for this analysis were favourable and guests were pleased with the state and appearance of the rooms and with service from staff.

Guests said that rooms were spacious and well-appointed. These guests found that having a fridge and a microwave in their rooms was convenient. They also said rooms were clean and well-maintained.

Staff here were eager to please and went out of their way to make guests comfortable. Guests mentioned that they were very knowledgeable and helpful in offering advice about local attractions and restaurants.

Guests felt that this hotel was conveniently located to shops and restaurants (a number of them commented on the convenience of having a Tim Horton's within walking distance).

There was a sense from guests that there was good value received for the room rate. Guests commented favourably on affordable pricing.

There were some additional comments about comfy beds and about solid Wi-Fi connections.

The Bad
Most of the reviews used for this analysis were positive, but there were a handful of isolated guest complaints.

A couple of guests complained of mouldy smells coming from their rooms. A couple of others said that there were lingering odours of cigarette smoke in their rooms.

A number of guests complained of noise disturbance from other guests in adjacent rooms and from the hallways. 

Some guests felt that the hotel was showing its age and that updates were in order, particularly to bedding and carpets.
