Super 8 by Wyndham Fort Frances Hotel

Most guests described their room as clean and inviting. Reviewers also found the beds to be comfortable and their rooms to be quiet. Guests who stayed on the smoking level (third floor) actually found that the rooms did not smell like cigarette smoke.

Guests were also impressed with the customer service at the Super 8 Fort Frances. One guest said that the staff "takes pride in their work and it shows" and another reviewer mentioned that he frequents this hotel on a regular basis because the staff treat him like family. Another guest mentioned that he was suffering from an injury and the front desk staff volunteered to carry his luggage to his room.  

The complimentary continental breakfast was also a primary source of compliments. Guest reviews stated that the buffet was well stocked and that the waffle station was a value-added feature. Some guests also mentioned that complimentary fresh baked cookies and coffee were made available in the afternoons.

Reviewers were also pleased with the location of this hotel and found restaurants and fast-food chains within walking distance (Boston Pizza, McDonalds, A&W, Dairy Queen, and KFC). One guest also mentioned that Walmart was nearby.

While there is no on-site fitness facility, one guest mentioned that the property provided her with free passes to the neighbouring local gym. Another guest was happy to learn that the hotel enforced "adult-time" at the pool and hot-tub area from 9pm to 10pm.

Most guests highly recommended this property as the best hotel in Fort Frances, with one reviewer stating that, "This Super 8 is the model by which other Super 8's should go by."

One reviewer noticed teenagers, who were not guests of the hotel, accessing the pool and hot tub area which created little space for guests of the hotel to enjoy the facilities. This same guest also mentioned that the heater in the pool area was not working at that time, and she found it quite cool. But, she stated that the hotel was in the process of having the heater replaced. Another guest said the hot tub was not working during his stay, though this seemed to be an isolated incident.

A few guests did seem somewhat unhappy with the price and found the hotel quite expensive compared to other properties in the area.

One guest said the carpet in his room had recently been shampooed and emitted a sour odour. Another guest complained about limited restaurants in the area; but this comment seemed to be more of a criticism about Fort Frances and not of the hotel.
