There were a lot of mixed opinions about the hotel. Guests who had negative comments usually were focused upon a few displeasing issues at the hotel.

Guests often complained of smelling smoke at the hotel. They claimed that the smoke from guests smoking in their rooms wafted up to their rooms on higher floors. Guests could often smell smoke in the hallways as well.

Hallway and in-room carpets were dirty and stained and guests often said that the rooms needed updating as well. Some recent complaints about the rooms were: saggy or lumpy mattresses, old TVs and furniture, smelly room, no shower curtain, stains on walls and ceilings, AC took forever to cool room, loud fans, key cards did not work reliably inconveniencing guests, bedding smelled like smoke, room heater did not work and was freezing cold with windows that did not shut, and pillows were soft and small.

Because there was no elevator, guests had to climb stairs to get to the second and third level with luggage. Sometimes their key cards deactivated and they had to go back to the front desk with bags in hand.

Some guests complained of staff that were not that helpful or friendly.

Sometimes guests were given rooms that were not well cleaned.

The breakfast, liked by some, often received negative comments for having a basic selection and sometimes limited quantity.

Some guests did not get the rooms or prices they had booked online.
