The Bad
The hotel did have some weaknesses which guests seemed disappointed with.

Some guests were upset with the outdoor parking lot for this hotel. They described it as far away, although it was only across a small street and kitty-corner to the hotel. It was fenced in, unpaved and a little small, with the entry and exit located at the end farthest from the hotel which made it a little bit of a walk with luggage. Parking cost an extra approximate $20 and if the outdoor spaces were taken, the hotel was able to provide valet parking as well.

Some guests found their rooms uncomfortably hot with no control over the room’s air conditioning in the hotter springtime weather. Guests had to wait until the heating system was changed over to the cooling system for the hotel rooms, although the main areas were on a separate, already cool system. The inability to open windows when rooms were overly warm was an added disappointment. Spring nights could also prove cool with no heat available, according to reviews.

Junior Suites (rooms with no separated bedroom) were described as cramped when the sofabed was in use. Sofabeds were uncomfortable to some guests who called them springy and small.

Some guests were disappointed with the restaurant on site. Some said good food, poor service and others were unimpressed with the food. Several found it expensive.

The breakfast area was described as cramped and some liked the breakfast and others were not all that impressed with it.

Recent reviewers were disappointed to have rooms across from a noisy construction site on Sackville Street at Hollis, and said construction workers could see into their rooms which faced onto Sackville. Guests said work began at 7am and that they had to sleep with ear plugs.

Some recent nitpicks were: vending machines were not all in working order and some were out of stock, hot tub was not always hot and some noise could be heard from the street side rooms on the lower level.
