The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay at this hotel, especially for the location.
The location was prime and often considered the hotel’s best feature. Guests loved being able to walk right out to the boardwalk, next to Cows ice cream and discover the attractions, shopping and restaurants along its path.
Guests typically liked the rooms. They were described as clean, quiet, spacious and well appointed. Some found the pillow-top beds comfortable and some had great harbour views.
Staff were often considered very friendly and helpful, although this sentiment was not unanimous.
Guests typically enjoyed the (not free) breakfast buffet on site for its variety.
Guests found nice harbour views from the outdoor patio located to one side of the building. It was not attached to the restaurant, and reserved only for hotel guests who could use it to relax in cushioned chairs and enjoy some down time.
Adding value to the stay were: a large and well kept indoor pool and hot tub with a 2-hour window of adult-only time and ample parking.

The Bad
Guests who were less pleased with their stays complained along a few themes.
Although the main public areas of the hotel had been updated, the rooms were due for a refresh and some found their bathrooms, the wallpaper and carpets dated. Guests also complained of beds and pillows that were too soft.
Some did not care for the food and prices at the restaurant on site.
Guests were often upset to have poor views from their rooms. This even happened to guests who had booked and paid extra for a room with a harbour view. It seems that the older-style building was designed poorly and many rooms had a partial view of roofs, other parts of the building plus the harbour. Although these technically had a partial harbour view, they were not the type of views guests had imagined they were getting.
The staff did not carry the property like some hotel staff do. When faced with complaints or issues from guests, they often became curt and defensive and did not find satisfying solutions to resolve the issues, but left the guests feeling as though they had been treated unfairly.
Some felt the hotel was overpriced.
Other recent complaints were: very loud music in the lobby a disturbance, no guest laundry on site an inconvenience, doors to rooms bang loudly when being shut, towels and bathrobes not plush, pool was noisy and overrun with kids with not enough adult-only time, blinds did not block all the light in the guest room and the guest patio was not always available and blocked off at times
