Best Western Plus Chocolate Lake Hotel - Halifax

Guests often had an enjoyable stay.

Rooms were clean, quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Some had great views of the lake and drive-up access.

The location was convenient to highways, downtown and the Canadian Forces Base.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant was very well liked. Guests enjoyed excellent dining while overlooking the lake.

The hot buffet breakfast offered good variety with fresh fruit and baked goods.

Guests also liked: the hotel’s mascot--Aero the chocolate lab, swimming in the lake, picnic tables along the grounds and balcony seating off the bar.

Some guests offered negative feedback.

Recent room complaints were: room needs an update, not enough storage or counter space in bathroom, no microwave, difficulty regulating the temperature, a hard mattress and outside door didn’t lock.

Noise disturbance was mentioned from: neighbouring rooms and the hallway.

Some guests complained of getting a room in a wing where the hallway had a few steps. This required them having to unload the luggage trolley and reload it in order to bring their luggage to their room (or carry it the rest of the way).

Other comments found were: $2.75 for a can of pop, hot tub too hot, and parking can be limited.
