Located just off Highway 102 in Halifax's Fairfield suburb and a 9-minute drive from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), Inn on the Lake caters to business and leisure guests, travelling by air or car, who prefer a boutique-style hotel that offers a unique and charming ambiance with fine dining.
This smoke-free hotel has 39 air-conditioned guest rooms, all of which offer free Wi-Fi, free local calls, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a desk with chair, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board and climate control. Rooms are furnished with 1 king, 1 queen or 2 double beds. Room extras include a private balcony, a lake view, a single or double jacuzzi, a stand-up shower for 2, a claw-footed soaker tub and an electric fireplace. This hotel was very well liked by guests who provided it with high scores in recent reviews read for this report. Guests praised the hotel's location, its rooms, staff and the excellent dining on site.
Many reviewers praised the hotel's location. It was described as being in a serene location by Lake Thomas, close to Halifax Airport and downtown Halifax. This was a great place to stay when accessing the airport due to the free shuttle (to and from the airport) and the owners going above and beyond for guests in this regard. One guest told of how the owner picked them up from the airport and also provided free hot coffee and muffins when leaving early on a flight.
The hotel's rooms were a source of numerous compliments by guests. They were described as very clean and cozy with great views of the lake and comfortable beds.
Several guests were pleased with the hotel's staff and characterized them as efficient and personable.
Many guests provided rave reviews of the food on site, from breakfast to dinner, to drinks at the pub. It was described as mouthwatering and wonderful time and time again.
Guests seemed to express that this hotel provided good value, from the free parking and free airport shuttle to the quality of the dining on site.
The Bad
While most of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there was the very occasional complaint regarding the staff, who sometimes were less than courteous at the front desk to the guests.
