The rooms were described as generally comfortable by several guests, while a couple of guests added that the rooms were spacious. A couple of reviewers enjoyed the in-room fireplace and private balcony. Several reviewers described pleasant views of the Bras d'Or Lakes from their rooms. There were, however, a handful of complaints about some of the in-room amenities (see below for more details).

The Bad
Among the reviews sourced for this editorial, many guests thought that the room rates were too expensive, given the quality of the accommodations and service.

As mentioned above, many guests were unhappy with their on-site dining experience, particularly that the prices were too expensive. A few reviewers complained about a 20% gratuity being added to their restaurant bill, as confirmed by one guest who said, "most astonishing was the automatic 20% gratuity added to our meal on the one occasion that we ate breakfast there and were served by the innkeeper herself." A couple of guests thought that the food tasted poor, while a couple of other reviewers said that the drink prices at the on-site lounge were also expensive.

Several guests agreed that the interior and exterior of the property appeared cheap and did not meet their expectations of a castle. One reviewer said "using the term 'castle' to describe the building is truly an exaggeration".

A few reviewers complained that the Wi-Fi service was unreliable. A couple of guests mentioned that there was no hot water in the morning, that the beds were uncomfortably soft and that the linens were worn.
