Overview
Travelodge Winnipeg East is located at 20 Alpine Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba just off Fermor Avenue and the Trans Canada Highway (Route 135). Downtown Winnipeg is an approximate 16 minute drive north of the hotel and Winnipeg's international airport is a 28 minute drive to the north-west.
more The 100% smoke-free and air-conditioned property has 2 storeys with no elevator, and 75 newly renovated rooms and suites. Renovations were completed in 2009 at which time the hotel received 4 Travelodge awards for their management, sales, marketing and also Property of the Year Award. The property maintains an indoor tropical courtyard in the pool area (along with sauna, whirlpool and kiddie pool) and features an attached 5-pin bowling lane (snacks available), plus an on-site restaurant and lounge.
Room and hotel amenities include complimentary wireless Internet (throughout hotel), free parking, free local telephone calls and voicemail, photocopy services, fax services, courier services, free weekday newspapers, coin-operated laundry services, luggage pick-up and storage, room service, in-room coffeemakers, 27" televisions, clock radios, hair dryers, individual AC/heat units, in-room microwaves and fridges, ironing boards, and irons.
Single rooms offer 1 King or 1 Queen bed while Double rooms offer 2 Queen size beds are based upon a 2-adult occupancy with an extra adult allowed for a surcharge. The hotel allows children under the age of 18 to stay free. Extra cots are $10, but cribs are provided free of charge. The hotel offers poolside rooms and suites for an extra charge. Pets are allowed to stay for a fee of $10 per stay.
On-site dining is available at the Marquee Restaurant & Lounge which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A coupon is available upon request at the Front Desk, which gives guests 10% off their meal.
The hotel also has a "Gaming Bar" that serves light meals and features a big-screen TV, pool table, electronic dart board and VLTs.

The Good
This was a very well-liked property with many satisfied guests. The facilities were well pleasing to the guests who referred to the beautiful, clean pool, great bar and lounge and the great fun bowling in the hotel's bowling alley.
more The hotel staff were highly rated for being accommodating, helpful and friendly. Many guests felt well taken care of by the attentive staff.
In the reviews used for this analysis, many praised the food quality, selection and reasonable prices of the cozy on-site restaurant. One reviewer praised the breakfast in particular and stated that the restaurant staff was flexible regarding substitutions. Guests said the food was excellent.
Many guests said their rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious.
Guests said parking was plentiful and safe with a security guard on patrol, however sometimes guests had to park on the street because the lot was full.
Some guests said that the hotel was conveniently located right off the Trans Canada Highway and close to downtown, with grocery shopping and fast food restaurants right in the neighbourhood plus easy access to public transit.

The Bad
