Overview
This property is situated within one block of the Winnipeg Convention Centre, in downtown Winnipeg. With free Wi-Fi, dry cleaning service and a business centre, this hotel is well suited for business travellers looking to access downtown offices or event centres.

This hotel is 100% smoke-free and all rooms include free Wi-Fi, a TV with pay-per-view movies, free local calls, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, a work desk, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and individual climate control. Rooms are furnished with either two double beds or one king bed.

Parking is available on site for an additional fee of $9.45 per day and pets are not permitted.

The on-site Barrister's Restaurant and Lounge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Rib Room, also on site, serves lunch and dinner. Room service is also available.

Other on-site amenities include a fitness centre (open 6 am to midnight), a business centre, meeting and banquet space, an ATM, safe deposit boxes, dry cleaning and laundry service and luggage storage. 

A free shuttle service (available daily from 7 am to 11 pm) is offered to and from the airport as well as to bus and train stations. Shuttle service operates on demand and travel must be arranged with the front desk directly.

There are several restaurants and nightlife venues within a 3-minute walk of this property and the City Place Shopping Centre is 4 minutes away on foot. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the MTS Centre (home of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets) are both about a 6-minute walk away, while the Winnipeg Art Gallery is 8 minutes away on foot. 

The Museum of Man and Nature and Manitoba Theatre Centre are both a 6-minute drive away. The Canad Inns Stadium (home the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers) is a 10-minute drive away, while the Winnipeg International Airport (YWG) is a 16-minute drive away. Many reviewers found the location convenient for walking to the MTS Centre, Winnipeg Convention Centre and other downtown attractions.

The rooms were described as clean and spacious by several reviewers and a couple of guests said that their rooms were generally comfortable.

Several guests who used the airport shuttle service found it to be convenient and quick.

While a couple of guests thought that this hotel offered good value for the money they spent, a couple of other reviewers disagreed (see below for more details).

The Bad
Several guests mentioned that they were disappointed by the condition of their rooms, among the reviews used for this analysis. Reviewers thought that their rooms were poorly maintained and in need of upgrades. Some guests described dated furnishings, peeling wallpaper and mould on the window-sills.

Several guests did not appreciate having to pay for parking ($7.50 per day). A few reviewers complained that the Wi-Fi service was slow and unreliable. One guest said that the service frequently disconnected.

While a couple of guests thought that the room rates were reasonable, a couple of other reviewers thought that the rooms were overpriced. 

A couple of reviewers mentioned that they did not feel completely safe at this property. One guest thought that the hotel clientele appeared "sketchy", while another reviewer claimed drunks were loitering outside the lobby.
