This hotel is situated a minute's walk from the ocean and the White Rock Promenade, a popular oceanfront boardwalk. Offering suites with a full kitchen and separate bedrooms, this budget hotel is well suited for guests seeking an extended vacation near the sea.
more This hotel is smoke free and all rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a 37" flat screen TV, a DVD player, a coffeemaker, a desk with ergonomic chair, heated bathroom floor tiles, a hair dryer, and individual climate control. All rooms are furnished with two queen beds and/or one king bed. Room extras include 40" flat screen TVs, mini-fridges, balconies, jacuzzis and full or partial ocean views.
Suites may also come with separate bedrooms, a kitchenette (full-size fridge, microwave, 4-burner stove top, sink with granite countertops), a dining area, a sofabed, additional flat screen TVs, a double jacuzzi and an electric fireplace.
Underground parking is available on site for $12 per night. Pets are permitted in select rooms for an additional fee of $25 per stay.
There is an independently-run cafe called Watts Cooking on site that is open from 7 am to 3 pm. It serves baked goods, coffee and tea, soups, salads and wraps.
Other on-site amenities include a fitness centre, guest laundry facilities and a conference facility.
There are several restaurants, nightlife venues and boutique shops located within a 5-minute walk of this property. The Good
Many guests enjoyed their stays at this hotel, judging from the reviews read for this editorial. The hotel offered a budget stay near to the ocean and close to shopping and dining.
Guests described their rooms as clean, comfortable and spacious, with pleasant ocean views. Guests spoke of their rooms being well equipped with kitchen facilities, heated floors, fireplaces that helped to heat the rooms and comfortable beds.
The staff were warm and friendly, according to many reviewers.
The coffee shop also received some praise for having great muffins and scones.
Some guests were pleased with the very clean and well lit underground parking and felt it was secure. Some mentioned that they appreciated the security cameras 'almost everywhere' which added a sense of security for them.

more Some guests said the hotel was noisy. Some reviewers described hearing conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms and the Amtrak trains which passed nearby. Guests also found the bar next door noisy, especially at 2 am when it closed down. One guest maintained that the ocean view rooms also faced the train tracks and were more noisy when trains passed by in the middle of the night.
Sometimes guests said that the room rates were too expensive for certain rooms, which they described as mediocre and complained of having to pay extra for parking. Also, some felt that the prices should have been lower during the off season.
Some guests found that the balconies did not offer the privacy expected as they were connected to neighbouring rooms or were part of a walkway that other hotel guests could use. Guests sometimes complained of having to keep the curtains drawn for privacy.
