Overview

Located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and about a 4-minute drive from Whistler resort town, The Aspens by Whistler Premier is suitable for travellers who prefer condo-style accommodations with extended kitchen amenities, ski-in/ski-out access and free Wi-Fi.

Each of this smoke-free hotel's one- and two-bedroom units comes equipped with air conditioning, an in-room safe, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a DVD player, a full kitchen, a balcony, a gas fireplace, a dining area, a seating area with a sofabed and a hair dryer. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible and pets are not permitted.

Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness room, ski-in/ski-out access, a business centre, ski storage, guest laundry and vending machines. A free ski shuttle is also available (please contact the hotel for details). Self-parking is available for $18 per day.

Marketplace Shopping Centre and Blackcomb Excalibur Gondola are both roughly a 4-minute drive from the hotel, while Whistler Conference Centre can be found 5 minutes away by car. Whistler Airport (YWS) is a 7-minute drive away. (All distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good

The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's location, rooms and staff.

The hotel's location was praised by numerous reviewers, who found it close to skiing, Whistler Village, restaurants, bars, shopping, a movie theatre and a supermarket. One patron remarked, "Great location just above the upper village and about a 2 minute ride to main village. From the time you pick up your skis each morning, within 40 yards you are on the slopes!".

Many lodgers enjoyed their accommodations at the hotel. They described their rooms as clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped, with comfortable beds. A few guests had complaints about their lodgings, however (see below).

Several travellers were pleased with the level of customer service they received during their stay, characterizing the staff as helpful, friendly and accommodating. One guest noted, "The staff were outstanding; friendly, courteous, very helpful with directions and suggestions for places to dine etc.".

The Bad

Some reviewers complained of noise disturbances during their stay. They reported noise from pedestrians on the street late at night as well as noise from guests in adjacent rooms.
