Overview

This property backs onto Village Park in the north section of Whistler Village and is surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants, a 2-minute walk from the Whistler Olympic Plaza. While ideal for exploring the Village on foot, this hotel also offers free shuttle service to the lifts, a 4-minute drive (or 12-minute walk) away.

This property is 100% smoke-free and all 81 suites include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a flat-screen TV, a Keurig coffeemaker, free snacks, a kitchenette (stove top, mini-fridge, microwave, sink with counter), a dining table, a fireplace, a balcony, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer bathrobes. Room extras include a sofabed, a dishwasher, a full-size fridge, a dining area for 4, and a separate bedroom. Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.

Underground parking is available on site for $21 including tax per night. This hotel offers a free shuttle service to Whistler/Blackcomb ski lifts (December - April). Pets are permitted at no additional charge and complimentary pet supplies are available upon request.

Elements Urban Tapas Parlour is on site and serves breakfast, lunch (Monday to Friday only), and dinner, while Sachi Sushi serves lunch (Tuesday to Friday only) and dinner. Room service is also available.

The on-site Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa offers massage services and esthetic treatments.

Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool and outdoor hot tub with patio area, a fire pit, a sauna, ski and luggage storage, concierge service, safe deposit boxes, free newspapers, coin-operated laundry machines, dry cleaning, and free yoga kits for in-room use.

The Whistler Museum is a 2-minute walk away, while the Whistler Art Gallery is 8 minutes away on foot. The Whistler/Blackcomb gondolas (and lift tickets kiosk) are 12-minutes away on foot (or 4 minutes by shuttle). The Whistler Golf Course and Driving Range and access to the Sea-to-Sky Highway are both about 3 minutes away by car. (All walking and driving time estimates: Google Maps)

Confirmed with the front desk on August 26, 2015: no cable but local channels, no pay-per-view movies, parking is $21 including taxes and kitchenettes have a stove top and no oven.

The Good

Most guest reviewers were highly pleased with the service and amenities of this hotel and had happy stays, judging from the reviews read for this report.

Guests found nicely-appointed, clean and comfortable rooms at the hotel. They spoke of the good size kitchenettes being handy, enjoyed the free snacks in the rooms, and balconies that provided pleasant views and a quiet place to relax. They enjoyed the complimentary toiletries and comfortable beds. Some guest's children were pleased to be able to keep the sock monsters they found on the beds.

The staff went out of their way to impress the guests with welcome sweets and hot beverages at check in and by accommodating guests in any way possible. Many appreciated special treats to celebrate birthdays and special occasions.

Guests found the location ideal for walking to restaurants and shops in the Village, yet in the quiet section of the village.

Several guests found the hotel to provide good value overall and were pleased with the free shuttle service to the slopes and to have a hot tub to relax in after skiing.

Dining on site was also praised by some guests who said it was excellent and many were pleased with free hot beverages at the reception area.

The Bad

Guests were very pleased with the hotel and their stays and consequently there was very little by way of complaint in the reviews, but one theme arose; guests did not like paying extra for parking.

Some guests found the parking tight in the underground lot and many mentioned the extra parking fee of $20 per night (before tax). Several reviewers mentioned that there was free parking about a 5-minute walk away.
