The Good
This hotel was highly praised by guests who enjoyed several aspects of the stay.
Guests typically found their rooms clean and well maintained. They appreciated having full kitchens, cozy fireplaces and comfy beds. Many guests liked having a private hot tub in their rooms as well as walk-out balconies that provided great views of the mountains.
Guests loved this location. This was not a noisy area of town--it had fewer restaurants in the immediate area and no pubs or taverns. It was close to the Village Stroll street which led north to shops and dining or south to more restaurants, the pub section and the lifts. Some liked its quick and easy access to the Sea-to-Sky highway, just a minute's drive.
Although a few recent guests did not find the staff all that friendly, many reviewers thought they were professional, friendly and eager to help.
Wi-Fi on site was nothing short of excellent. One guest put it like this, "Wireless internet was the best we have experienced in many hotels."
Value stood out as one of the best things about this hotel. Besides being well priced for a resort destination, this hotel provided a full kitchen to save on dining out, a guest laundry and cheap pet stays. (One reviewer reasoned that a $25 per stay charge for her dog cost a lot less than kennel costs for a multi-day stay.)
The Bad
Although guests left high scores in their reviews, they did also offer some critique of the hotel.
Some guests complained about the parking. They found the stalls narrow and difficult to access due to many pillars, especially for SUVs with ski or bike racks, and some found it expensive. (Some guests found a free parking lot #4 a short walk away.)
There were some complaints about the pool and fitness room. The fitness room was small with just 2 machines, and the pool was awkward to get to, cold at times, and the restaurant overlooked the pool, which some guests found disagreeable.
Occasionally guests had trouble keeping their rooms at a comfortable temperature and some considered them a little dated. Guests who were not travelling as a couple sometimes complained about the in-room double jacuzzi not being located in the bathroom, where they could have used it.
Guests who had juliette balconies thought they were dangerous for little children and some were disappointed to find their room did not have a walk-out balcony (after reading on the website that all rooms had a balcony).
