The Good
Guests loved their stays with many stating they would return.

The hotel was classy and offered beautifully-decorated public spaces, along with a warm, hospitable and relaxing atmosphere. There was always lots to do and the hotel catered well to kids and families, as well as couples looking for a romantic getaway.

The staff made a great impression with the guests. They helped immensely to create a sense of fun, genuine friendliness and provided impeccable service. Guests praised them repeatedly in the reviews calling them incredibly cheerful, amazingly helpful, superb and wonderful. Some well-travelled guests said they were the best they had ever encountered.

Guests loved the location. It was right at the base of the Blackcomb Mountain with easy access to the lifts. The area offered great skiing and spectacular views. The ski rental and valet ran effectively with guests being able to get geared up and go. Some were pleased to be served hot chocolate on tap, and bottled water at the valet station. It was an easy walk to restaurants nearby and the lower village area offered many entertainment and dining choices.

The outdoor hot tubs and pools which were well heated in the wintertime, and had lounge service, provided guests with special and memorable experiences. Guests spoke of sipping cocktails under the stars at night, while in the pool with snowflakes falling.

The rooms were often described as clean, quiet and well appointed with amenities. Guests reported comfortable beds and liked the glassed-in showers. Some said the rooms were small and some said they were large. Club floor rooms were considered worth the extra charge for the variety and quality of the freebies offered, and mountain-view rooms came highly recommended by reviewers as definitely worth the extra cost.

Guests enjoyed dining on site. They mentioned good breakfast buffets, liked Portobello's, and had delicious dinner at The Chalet. The entertainment and drinks at the lounge were enjoyed also, along with great bar staff.

The Bad
There were some complaints offered in the reviews but these were by far, not commonly held sentiments.

Some felt the hotel was expensive. They mentioned parking fees, room rates and drinks and dining on site adding up. Some were especially upset with the price of alcoholic beverages on site.

Some guests complained about the day spa. Although some guests offered praise for the spa services, occasionally a guest found the spa treatments sub par, and the area too busy, or not relaxing enough with too many kids around.

A few guests mentioned that their room's decor, bathrooms and overall appearance was a little dated.

The hotel got rather busy at times. Guests spoke of queues at the ski rental shop and the ski valet, slow service in the restaurant and that there was no adult-only hot tub. One guest put it this way, "Just don't go when it's family day or weekends because with all the kids running around, it can get pretty hectic."
