This boutique hotel is located in Whistler Village and is about a 2-minute walk from the Whistler-Blackcomb gondola. The hotel is geared to guests who want to be right in the village, near the ski lifts and restaurants, and have a room with a kitchenette and fireplace.

All 68 rooms are smoke free and include free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV with cable, a DVD player, an iPod dock, a kitchenette (stove top, mini-fridge, microwave, sink with counter, cookware, dinnerware) a dining table, a wood-burning or gas fireplace, bathrobes, a hair dryer and individual climate control. Rooms are furnished with 1 queen bed or 1 king bed and a twin bed. Room extras include a sofabed, a loft room with two floors, a full-size kitchen, a vaulted ceiling, a private balcony, a second bathroom and a private sauna. Rooms face the village or the mountains.

Parking is available on site for $24.15 per night. Pets are permitted in select rooms for an additional fee of $25 per night. Pet-friendly rooms are equipped with food and water dishes, a dog bed and a pet blanket.

Next door, and under separate management, il Caminetto restaurant serves dinner while Umberto's Trattoria is open daily for lunch and dinner. Both offer Tuscan cuisine.

Other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub (at neighbouring property across the street), a fitness centre, a 24-hour business centre, concierge services, secure ski and bike storage, a 24-hour front desk, and meeting and conference space. This hotel has an elevator, but it does not reach all floors. (No ice machine on site.)

The Whistler Village Art Gallery is a 1-minute walk, while the Whistler Conference Centre is a 3-minute walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants, shops and nightlife venues located within a 5-minute walk of this property. The Whistler Museum and the Whistler Olympic Plaza are both about 7 minutes away on foot. The Whistler Golf Course and Driving Range is a 5-minute walk away, while access to the Sea-to-Sky Highway is 3 minutes away by car. (All walking and driving time estimates: Google Maps)

Confirmed with the front desk on September 11, 2015: all rooms have kitchenettes, pet fees are $25 per night, parking is $24.15, the hotel offers cable channels but no pay-per-view movies
The Good
The positive reviews outnumbered negative ones in the reviews read for this report. Guests who liked this hotel typically were satisfied with the accommodations for the price, and were pleased to have a place to stay right in the village.

Guests found the location to be convenient to the gondola ski lift, the village restaurants and shops and the mountain bikes trails.

The staff were well liked for their friendly manner and they were also very apologetic for the faults of the hotel, which made things easier.

Although some found the hotel expensive, there were several reviewers that came at a time when the hotel was very reasonably priced and they found this to be a redeeming factor.

Although the rooms received a lot of criticism, there were some guests who found clean rooms with comfortable beds.

The Bad
Many were disappointed with several aspects of the hotel's service, in the reviews that were sourced online.

The rooms were not as clean and well maintained as expected. It seems that the hotel was short staffed in the housekeeping department, as many rooms were rented out without having been properly cleaned. Guests also complained of housekeeping neglecting to replenish supplies and clean the rooms during their stays. Guests also found broken amenities and areas that were worn and needed replacing.

Some guests complained of small and cramped rooms and bathrooms and uncomfortable beds.

The hotel was hard to locate with poor signage; guests also had difficulty locating the underground parking lot and found the parking to be expensive.

Some complained of having to walk across the street in bathing suits as the hotel's advertised pool and hot tub was in another property with no change rooms or washrooms there for changing. Others said they had to access ice in the sister hotel as well.

Some guests described having to use the stairs to access their rooms with their luggage as the elevators did not service all rooms on all floors.
