The Good
The majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive with compliments going to the hotel's staff, location, and value.
Most guests offered praise to the hotel's staff and characterized them as friendly, accommodating and helpful. One guest described how the staff went out of their way to return a ring they'd left in their room, while another guest described the manager delivering ice to a patron with accessible needs.
Several reviewers were pleased with the hotel's location. They described it as being a 10-minute drive into downtown Vancouver and close to local tourist attractions such as Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge (14 minutes and 8 minutes away respectively).
The cost and value of the hotel were appreciated by many lodgers, who found the price fair. These lodgers were pleased with their accommodations and felt the rooms were clean, spacious and of "solid value" for the cost.
The Bad
While most of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were some common complaints among them which included noise transfer, out-dated decor and odour within the rooms.
Some guests had complaints about excess noise. They described the noise as stemming from other guests in adjacent rooms and in the hallway, as well as noise from a warehouse across the street. It should be noted however that most reviews did not mention noise as a problem, and some guests found the hotel very quiet.
A few guests were disappointed with the decor and fixtures in the hotel and found them outdated and in need of replacement. They described old and worn carpet and bathrooms which were too bare, with no shelf in the shower. A few other guests had complaints that they could smell cigarette smoke in their non-smoking rooms.
