Many guests really enjoyed this hotel. It was perfectly located in the heart of the historic downtown district, right on the harbour with stunning views, close to shopping and surrounded by great restaurants in walking distance.
Many loved their rooms. They were beautifully appointed, each with its own balcony for taking in the ocean air and spectacular views, and many had apartment-sized suites with full kitchens and comfy beds making guests feel they could really settle in. Guests said Wi-Fi was excellent with dedicated in-room routers.
The staff were accommodating. Guests found them easy to deal with, responsive to problems and very helpful with local information.
Many felt the hotel delivered great value with reasonable room rates, a free hot breakfast, and free parking which was quite unique for a downtown hotel.
The hotel had some weak spots, according to some of the online reviewers.
One of these was noise encountered by guests on the lower floors of street-side rooms. They reported hearing bar music and rowdy patrons late at night, and in the early morning there was the sound of garbage trucks.
Although many guests appreciated having the free breakfast offered, the occasional reviewer found it uninspiring. They said the free breakfast could have used more options and the breakfast room was a little crowded at times.
Some mentioned that the decor is a bit old, but the hotel is commencing renovations in April 2016.
A few guests missed having air conditioning in their suites, although this was rarely an issue for guests as many of the rooms are air conditioned and all rooms have patio doors that open to the outside ocean air. A few guests pointed out that the hotel lacked a pool, hot tub and exercise room.
