About the B&B: This property, featuring Tudor-style architecture and manicured gardens, was once home to the 15th Premier of British Columbia, Edward Gawler Prior. It is located in a pleasant residential area, a 7-minute drive or 33-minute walk from the city centre.

The 4-storey B&B is smoke-free and pet-free and offers 6 rooms with no elevator.

All rooms include
free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV with Netflix and cable, a tea kettle, a mini-kitchen or kitchenette, a desk, a fireplace (gas, wood-burning or original coal), a tub (soaker or jetted) and heating.

Some rooms include a single or double sofabed, 1 or 2 separate bedrooms, a living room, a coffeemaker, a DVD player, a safe, a walk-in closet, a hair dryer, a garden, mountain or sea view, a private outside entrance, a patio, a balcony with table and chairs and air conditioning.

Rooms are furnished with 1 queen bed or 1 king bed.

Free outdoor parking is available on site.

Free tea is available in the dining room at any time (coffee is available on request).

The Inner Harbour Centre and BC Whale Tours are both within an 11-minute drive. Butchart Gardens is 30 minutes by car.

The Good
Guests really loved this B&B and highlighted the impressive rooms, gardens, exceptional hosts, and delicious breakfast.

Rooms were clean and spacious with impressive décor, comfy beds and huge bathrooms.

Guests enjoyed the location. It was in a quiet neighbourhood—great for walking and jogging. It was an easy walk to Craigdarroch Castle and Government House which also offered tours. Downtown was a short drive or cab ride away.

Staff were very helpful, pleasant and accommodating—going out of their way to please guests.

Guests enjoyed the free breakfast. It was plentiful and delicious with great variety. Gluten-free and vegan options were available.

Guests also liked: fresh flowers, fresh cookies and chocolates in the room, beautiful grounds, small patio by the room, and seeing wild deer in the backyard.

The Bad
Some guests offered negative feedback.

Room complaints found were: bed could have been better, no outdoor lights to approach the door of the Aberdeen Chamber, jets on tub did not work and a lot of dust under the couches.

Wi-Fi signal was weak and intermittent according to some.

Other comments found: room cost an extra 15% than what had been already pre-paid online, and better napkins needed for breakfast.
