The Good
Many guests had excellent stays at this hotel. It all started with the warm chocolate chip cookie at check in that provided a hospitable welcome.

Guests were often very pleased with the professional, efficient and welcoming customer service they received, and the staff were described as genuinely caring and helpful. One guest expressed the sentiment of many, "The staff always greeted me for the duration of my stay and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed."

The rooms were all redone and the hotel looked modern, new and very clean. Guests offered lots of praise for the classy decor with superior quality furnishings, very comfortable beds and stunning ocean, mountain and city views from their rooms.

The location was considered prime. It offered nearby access to dining, shopping and tourist attractions. It had great bus access, across the street for both the city bus and the PCL express line, and business travellers liked being just off Douglas Street (aka Trans-Canada Hwy), a major north-south artery.

Guests also enjoyed dining on site. The hotel's new restaurant Table 21 offered a great menu and delicious food, the English Pub provided an enjoyable atmosphere and the breakfast buffet was described as fresh and really first class.

The Bad
Some guests offered their critique of the hotel and its services.

Some thought the only downer was the $20 parking fee and having to use valet service.

Several guests complained of noise from: the hallway, the AC/heating unit, and outdoors from sirens, traffic, and harbour aircraft.

Other recent complaints found online were: lighting in the room was not warm but fluorescent-like, breakfast seemed expensive, no closet in room to hang your clothes, bathroom a bit small, lighting too dim, the coffee was not the best quality in the room and there were only paper cups, room keys never worked, and the wifi is a bit shoddy--making you sign in repeatedly.
