The Good
Many guests really liked this hotel. It was in a great downtown location in walking distance of attractions, dining and shopping. It had very helpful and welcoming staff. And the rooms were nicely appointed and clean, with very comfortable beds. Many guests frequented the hotel and several recent reviewers planned to return.

Guest reviewers were mainly focused on what they enjoyed about the hotel. Recent guests mentioned being pleased to have a free downtown shuttle, beautiful views from the guest rooms and restaurant, and spacious suites that allowed for having friends over.

Guests were also pleased with the hotel's dining. They mentioned breakfast being well prepared and well priced, they enjoyed the lounge for late night drinks and snacks and also mentioned enjoying delicious and prompt room service.

Guests overall seemed very satisfied with the service and facility for the price charged. One recent guest summed it up well, "We have stayed many times at the Chateau and always enjoy it. The hotel provides excellent amenities for the rate we pay but what makes it exceptional is the attitude of every staff member we are in contact with. The location is tops, the free bunny bus a bonus, and Clive's lounge a superior place to have a nite cap."

The Bad
Occasionally the hotel missed making a good impression. This usually occurred when guests were given an older room or had noise disturbances.

Guests who were assigned rooms that were not renovated were sometimes quite disappointed with their stay. Complaints about these rooms included dirty carpet, old and nicked furniture, stale cigarette odour, uncomfortable mattresses, dark rooms and narrow balconies without furniture.

Noise was an issue for a few guests. Recent sources were: housekeepers in the hallways, mini-fridges, an exterior AC unit, banging water pipes, noisy portable AC units, noise from a generator, guests in neighbouring room and hallways and noise from a neighbouring rooftop patio.

Other comments found: fitness room hot and stuffy with old equipment and pool and hot tub a little dated.
