Overview

About the hotel: This hotel is located on Highway 97, next to restaurants and a 5-minute walk from Vernon Square Shopping Centre. The hotel features an indoor pool, restaurant and recently renovated rooms with full kitchens, making it ideal for families and guests wanting recreation on site and the comforts of home.

The hotel had 90 smoke-free room in 2 buildings, a motel-style one with 2 floors and no elevator and one with 4 floors and elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV with cable, a coffeemaker, a desk with ergonomic chair, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and climate control.

Some rooms include a mini-fridge, a microwave, a kitchenette and a full kitchen. Accessible rooms are available.

Rooms are furnished with 2 double beds, 1 queen bed or 1 king bed.

Free outdoor parking is available on site.

Pets are welcome for $10 per pet, per night.

Restaurant on site: Denny's restaurant is open 24 hours a day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is available from 7 am to 10 pm.

The Good

Guests reviewers enjoyed their stays at the hotel in recently renovated rooms.

They liked the decor, the full size kitchens, the good shower pressure and found the beds comfortable, affording them a good night's sleep.

Guests were also typically quite pleased with the friendly staff at the front desk who were hospitable and accommodating to them.

Guests seemed pleased with the location, right on the highway and easy to find. One guest added, "There is lots to do in the area, wine tours, U-Pick farms for fresh fruit and produce, the mountains and the lake all with easy access from the hotel."

The Denny's Restaurant was convenient for a quick breakfast before hitting the road in the morning and guests typically liked the convenience of having dining on site.

Guests also liked: a nice pool, a good desk and chair and a comfy chair with foot stool with which to watch TV.

The Bad

Some things were not all that accommodating at the hotel.

Some guests said the AC units did not cool well, were positioned too close to the bed and were loud.

Small rooms and small and awkward bathrooms were another sticking point, with guests being uncomfortable in certain rooms that were cramped. More than one guest complained about the light switches being awkwardly hidden behind the open door and the plug ins beside the bed only working while the light was on, making them useless at nighttime.

Guests with trucks found the parking lot too small and sometimes Denny's patrons used up some of the parking, making it a challenge for guests.

Other recent comments found were: train horns were loud, hallways were hot, room smelled musty, and fitness room needs an upgrade.
