Overview
Located a 7-minute drive from Vancouver's city centre and about a 6-minute walk from Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain Station, the Skwachays Healing Lodge is geared towards travellers who prefer an aboriginal-themed boutique hotel with free Wi-Fi, a sweat lodge and easy access to public transit.

Each of this smoke-free hotel's guest rooms comes equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a desk, a coffeemaker and a mini-fridge. Rooms with a private entrance and a microwave are also available, as are wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Hotel amenities include a sweat lodge, a library, an artist's workshop, an art gallery, a rooftop terrace, a gift shop and meeting space. Public parking is available on site for $15 per day and pets are not permitted.

BC Place is about a 2-minute walk away, while Pacific Centre Mall can be found 7 minutes away via public transit. The hotel's location was praised by many guests, who found it close to restaurants, shopping, public transit, the cruise port, Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre. One patron noted, "Downtown Vancouver is not as big as we thought and this hotel was in walking distance to everything that we wanted to see...Gastown, Canada Place, Stanley Park (we stopped for lunch on the way), Science Center, Waterbus to Granville Island, Casino, and Chinatown". A few lodgers had issues with the hotel's surrounding area, however (see below).

Although the majority of reviewers praised the hotel's downtown locale and proximity to attractions, a few guests criticized its location. They found the surrounding area to be sketchy and "gritty". One travellers clarifies, "Obviously the location is convenient, but not far from a dicey part of town. That said, the whole area is gentrifying and the area's poor reputation is overstated. I felt secure throughout my stay".

While many guests were pleased with their spacious and comfortable accommodations, a few lodgers had complaints about their rooms. They reported no in-room hair dryers, noisy air conditioning, spotty Wi-Fi and a few housekeeping issues.
