Overview

This hotel is situated in downtown Vancouver, near the restaurants and cafes of Davie Street and is about a 7-minute walk from the Seaside Bicycle Route and the Burrard and Granville bridges. Offering two-bedroom suites with full kitchens and extended-stay rates, this property is ideal for guests in need of long-term accommodations or families wanting extra space with extended kitchen facilities.

This property is smoke free and pet free. All 53 two-bedroom suites include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, an LCD flat screen TV with cable, a full kitchen (full-size fridge with freezer compartment, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker), a dining table with 4 chairs, a living room with a sofabed, a work desk, a safe, an iron and ironing board, a DVD player, a deep soaker tub, bath toiletries, a hair dryer and individual climate control. The bedrooms are furnished with 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 double beds or 2 twin beds. Room extras include a second bathroom, a jetted tub, balcony, fireplace, a third half-bathroom, and 2 floor levels. (Two-level suites are not available online.)

Underground parking is available on site for $20 per night, plus tax.

A free continental breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am to 10 am. There are many restaurants and cafes in walking distance and a 24-hour bakery and cafe next door to the hotel.

This property offers a free drop-off only shuttle service to several downtown destinations including the cruise terminal, English Bay, Stanley Park, Gastown and Pacific Central Station. The shuttle operates on demand from 7 am to 6:30 pm and travel may be arranged with the front desk directly.

Other on-site amenities include an indoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness centre, a 24-hour guest laundry, dry cleaning, a guest computer in lobby, guest fax and copy service, free newspapers, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.

Yaletown, which features boutique shopping and dining is a 6-minute walk away, while BC Place Stadium and Rogers Arena (arena and concert venue) are both about 20 minutes away on foot. The downtown area, which features the Harbour Centre tower, dining, the Vancouver Convention Centre, nightlife and the Pacific Centre Mall (shopping), is a 17-minute walk away.

Stanley Park (Vancouver Aquarium plus hiking and biking trails) is a 7-minute drive away, while the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is 25 minutes away by car. (All walking and driving time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good

Many guests described positive experiences at this property in the reviews read online for this report.

The rooms were frequently described as spacious, clean and comfortable and families especially appreciated having separate bedrooms, kitchens and lots of space.

The staff were frequently complimented and guests described their service as professional, helpful and friendly. Guests said they were quick to resolve any issues and gave good recommendations to guests.

Many reviewers found the hotel well located for accessing restaurants, shopping, entertainment and the harbourfront area on foot.

Several guests appreciated the fitness centre, hot tub and indoor pool of the neighbouring Marriott hotel which the guests were given access to.

The Bad

There were a few common concerns found for this hotel, among the reviews sourced for this analysis.

The in-room decor and furnishings were getting a little tired according to some guests.

Although many guests were thankful to have a free breakfast each morning, a few guests wished it had more protein choices. Some found the breakfast room small, cramped and rather chaotic.

A few guests were disappointed to not be able to use the free shuttle services as it was already booked, or did not run early enough in the morning to satisfy their need.

Some guests said they could hear sirens of ambulances going to the hospital even on the higher floors.
