Overview
Located on Cox Bay's beach just off Pacific Rim Highway, the Pacific Sands Beach Resort is suitable for travellers who prefer a beachfront hotel with extended kitchen amenities, meeting/banquet space and easy highway access.
more Each of this smoke-free hotel's suites offers free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a DVD player, a full kitchen, a separate bedroom, a living room with a sofabed, a fireplace, a patio or deck, a dining area, an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. Beach houses and hot tub suites offer an iPod dock, a jetted tub, a bathrobe for each guest and a washer and dryer.
Hotel amenities include a grocery store (limited), grocery delivery, BBQ facilities, daily surfing lessons, laundry facilities, meeting/banquet space, a library, free parking, a coffee bar and meals to-go. Pets are permitted for an additional $40 per pet, per stay. The hotel is wheelchair accessible.
Pacific Rim National Park Reserve is about a 23-minute drive away, while Tofino Botanical Gardens can be found 5 minutes away by car. The hotel's location was praised by many reviewers. They described it as beautiful and relaxing, as well as close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, downtown Tofino, Hot Spring Cove, Pettinger Point Outlook, Radar Hill and hiking trails.
Numerous guests were pleased with their accommodations at the hotel. They found their rooms to be clean, spacious, nicely decorated, well equipped and modern, with stunning ocean views and comfortable beds. A few lodgers complained about their rooms, however (see below).
The hotel's staff were the source of several compliments by travellers, who characterized them as efficient, friendly and helpful with tour and dining reservations. One patron remarked, "The staff could not have been more helpful, cheerfully accommodating our every need including some rather unusual ones. The manager even let us use her private office for an hour-long conference call".
The Bad
