Overview

This hotel provides direct access to the Gentle Giant Ski Trail on Sun Peaks Ski Resort. The Sundance Express and the Village Carpet Lifts are about a 6-minute walk away. This property is well located for guests who are looking for convenient access to skiing.

This property is 100% smoke free and all rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a 27" TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and air conditioning. Some rooms feature mountain views and/or vaulted ceilings and a private balcony.

Suites provide more spacious accommodations and include a separate sitting area with a sofabed. Select suites also include mountain views. Rooms and suites on the Signature Club level include turn-down service and access to the Signature Club Lounge, which serves free breakfast and free evening hors d'oeuvres.

Self-parking is available on site for $13 per day, while valet parking is available for $17 per day. Pets (small to medium-sized dogs and cats) are permitted in select rooms for an additional fee of $35 per stay, or a flat fee of $70 for stays longer than 5 days.

There are multiple on-site dining options. Mantles Restaurant and Lounge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Morrisey's Public House serves dinner daily and lunch and dinner on weekends. Room service is also available.

The on-site spa provides massage services. Other on-site amenities include an outdoor heated pool, three outdoor hot tubs, a fitness centre, a business centre, concierge services, ski valet, a gift shop and meeting/banquet facilities.

The base of the mountain is about 7 minutes away on foot, while the Sun Peaks Golf Course is a 6-minute walk away. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway and downtown Kamloops (shopping, restaurants, night life and museums) are about an hour away by car. The Good

Many guests described enjoyable stays at this property, among the reviews used for this analysis, and several aspects of this hotel received compliments.

Many guests found their rooms and the property in general to be well appointed. Reviewers described them as beautiful and fabulous, clean and spacious. A few guests agreed that their beds were comfortable.

Many reviewers thought that the location was ideal for accessing skiing and one guest mentioned that the location was convenient for skiing back to the room for lunch. A few guests also mentioned that amenities in the village, including shops and restaurants, were within easy walking distance.

Many guests enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub area. A few reviewers described pleasant views of the mountains from their rooms and the pool area. One reviewer said that the views were exceptional.

Several reviewers complimented the staff for their friendly and helpful service, however a couple of other guests expressed concerns about the customer service (see below for more details).

Several guests appreciated the ski valet service and a couple of reviewers were happy that this hotel allowed pets.

A few guests praised the food at the on-site restaurant.

The Bad

There were few concerns or complaints found for this hotel, among the reviews sourced for this analysis. However, a few guests found the Wi-Fi service weak and unreliable. A couple of these guests said that they were unable to connect.

While several reviewers complimented the staff, a couple of guests thought that the service could have been better. One guest found the wait staff at the on-site restaurant unresponsive and unapologetic. This guest also mentioned that she had to constantly remind housekeeping to restock the complimentary coffee and tea supplies in her room.
