The Good
The majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive with much praise going to the hotel's property, staff, and rooms.
Several reviewers complimented the hotel on its grounds. They described the property as being exceptionally well maintained with beautiful views of the Thompson River and sunsets, and they also enjoyed visiting the horses and llamas kept at the hotel.
Most guests were pleased with the attitude of the staff and characterized them as friendly, helpful and pleasant. One guest detailed how helpful the staff were in helping her plan her wedding at the hotel.
The rooms were a source of praise for some lodgers; they described them as clean, tastefully decorated and spacious with comfortable beds. However, a few guests were disappointed that there weren't fridges in the rooms.
The Bad
While most of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few common complaints among them regarding the hotel's breakfast, location, and on-site restaurant.
Many guests were disappointed with the breakfast provided at the hotel. It was described as being small in selection with no hot items, and these guests were upset that it was not included in the price (it is $10 per person) and that it had to be ordered the night before. Many of these guests felt a hot breakfast should be included since the hotel does have a restaurant on site.
Some reviewers found the location to be too far from Kamloops' downtown area (roughly 25 minutes driving time) and had complaints about having to drive several minutes to pick up supplies. Some other reviewers mentioned they had difficulty finding the hotel and that they needed to call the hotel or ask at the gas station for directions.
The dinner served at the on-site restaurant was a source of disappointment for some lodgers. Some described it as too expensive, while some said that the "seasonal veggies" described on the menu were canned corn. The service at the restaurant was also characterized by a few guests as slow and "not-so-friendly".
